March is Coach Education Month in Missoula

Missoula Strikers SC will be hosting two coaching courses in Missoula in March 2010.

Both an 'E' License (the first level of coaching certification offered through the USSF (United States Soccer Federation) and a 'D' License will be offered.

Day 1 – Friday Evening start time 6:00PM

Course Orientation (classroom) 6:00 – 6:30

Methods of Coaching Power Point Presentation (classroom) 6:30 – 7:30

The Basics of Transition Power Point presentation (classroom) 8:00 – 9:00

Care & Prevention TAKE HOME

Laws of the Game review TAKE HOME

Day 2 – Saturday start time 8:00AM

How and When to pass, dribble and receive (field) 8:00 – 9:00

Practical Coaching Demonstrations from 4v4 to 6v6 (including goalkeepers) to teach the following topics:

Playing balls in the air/heading balls (field) 9:15 – 10:30

How and when to shoot/finish with accuracy (field) 10:45 – 11:45

Lunch 12:00 – 1:30

Goalkeeping shot stopping and playing with your feet (field) 1:30 – 2:30

Principles of attack in small groups (including basic support and combination play – field) 2:45 – 4:30

Day 3 – Sunday start time 8:00AM

Principles of defending in small groups (with attention to pressuring and covering players working together - field). 8:00-9:30

Candidate Practice Coaching I (field) 9:45 – 11:45

Lunch 12:00 – 1:00

Candidate Practice Coaching I (field) 1:00 - finish

End of 1st weekend

Day 4 – Friday start time 6:00 – 10:00PM

Principles of Play I with Reading the Game cycle Power Point presentation (classroom) 6:00 – 7:00

Course summary – testing review (classroom) 7:00 – 7:30

Oral Exams (classroom) 7:45 – 10:00

Day 5 –Saturday start time 8:00AM
